Bloom Seed Co deleted on Discord; Archive Seed’s hot new-new drops
Plus: $1,000 Tire Fire OG cuts coming to Clonetopia 2026
BY DAVID DOWNS | Feb. 11 | SAN FRANCISCO
Good afternoon, Fire Followers,
This is David Downs in San Francisco where I’m drying some Dr. Grinspoon S1s, smoking through Compound Genetics’ new Candy Paves, and on track to go to Berlin in June for Mary Jane. Yew.
Welcome to Fire Follower: Your weekly must-read for the best seeds and clones in the game. Publishing every Wednesday with market-moving, brand-making, actionable genetics intelligence from me, David Downs, based on 17 years on the weed beat, including seven at Leafly.
We trawl hundreds of important socials, seedbanks, web pages, and Discords—so you don’t have to.
In this week’s newsletter free excerpt:
Archive Seed Bank’s big new 3 strains
Bloom Seed Co cut down on Discord
Picks from Twenty20 Mendo—an auto breeder you need to know
Reserve a $1,000 Tire Fire OG cut from HendRx Nursery
As always, the first hit is free, then I’ll see you in the Pro version. Assuming you got $5 on it.
ARCHIVE MAKES BANK: The biggest drop of the week came from Archive Seeds of Oregon, who debuted three new strains. The Lemonheads V2 is sold out. The Toad Venom cross Ichiban has been restocked at $250 per pack.
“The Toad Venom is by far the best of the ‘candy’ type profile clones that I’ve grown,” said Fletcher. (We’re certainly loving smoking it.)
Bingo! is also still around. “Everything from deep purple floral lavender graped out juicy modern flavors to classic funked out gassy gear oil with moonbow Z flares.”
AUTOFLOWER BRAND TO WATCH: Here’s an autoflower breeder you need to know: Twenty20 Mendocino, which now calls Michigan its home base.
We caught up with founder Adam at the American Autoflower Cup and got the download on top strains to check out and the latest from the brand.
On the legal market since 2019, Twenty20 Mendo has four employees, and a thriving Discord server with dozens of channels and over 2,300 members.
Last year, they powered a Michigan distillate farm with 420,000 highly homozygous seeds that yielded 1.2 million pounds of dry harvest. They focus on strains that finish early, and resist the plant disease septoria.
Check out their Grape Gas Auto, the 2025 American Autoflower Cup winner. Right now, look at The Perm F3, in crush-resistant bamboo packaging.
Their best-sellers are Bubbawhip, their SFnG photoperiods, an automatic Durban Sunrise, and Triks.
The most slept-on strain on their site right now is The Spice F3, which is “fucking nuts,” said Adam. It’s a cross of Biscotti x The Whip, and ‘The Whip’ is their foundational cultivar. The Whip started with Island Mountain Strawberry Kush they got from an old hippie uncle who pretty much IBL’d a Strawberry Afghan that is adapted to Mendo. It’s super-short and squat.
“It makes a difference when you breed with a pure-bred,” said Adam.
Another one to watch: Snow-G, which comprised 160,000 of the 420,000 in the Michigan field.
New for this year is Blond Bomb, a cross of Girl Crush x Love bomb. Also: SugarHigh, which is Girl Crush crossed to the Strawberry Biscotti that won Happy Day Farms’ Casey a Golden State Fair Award for highest THC. It apparently looks like a bunch of hash and tastes like hash with not a lot of terps because it tests at 41% THC.
Adam is based in Fortuna, and Twenty20 refers to the geolocation of what was their main farm. It’s clear Twenty20 goes hard in autos, but also has this rich, valid line of work in photoperiods. I asked him about the rift between the two.
“Auto lovers don’t hate photos. Photo lovers hate autos,” he said. “It’s so weird. Live and let live.”

BLOOM CUT DOWN: Bloom Seed Co’s epic Discord server got deleted by the tech company, Bloom reports on X and Reddit this week. The deletion bodes ill for Instagram refugee brands who’ve made a new home on the one-time gaming platform. Discord is reportedly cracking down on unsavory activity in its servers, and weed might just be a casualty. More as we learn about it. The server deletion reportedly nuked everything Bloom had there, with tons of photos, wisdom and more—gone in a keystroke. Buyer beware.
LEAFLY STRAIN OF (LAST) YEAR: Leafly has moved its ‘Strain of the Year’ from its annual spot in December to February, we guess. The 2025 nominees are: Gush Mints, Hash Burger, Dulce De Uva, Sour Diesel, Blue Lobster.
